AN INDIAN ARMY HEART CRIES OUT

WHY DO THE POLITICIANS AND THE BUREAUCRATS DESPISE THE INDIAN ARMED FORCES SO MUCH??

Dear People of India,


1. We are Indian Army Soldiers. Countries like the US and UK and most other avanced democracies, with Armies that are facing conflict, venerate the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces. The UK parliament has even passed a law called Armed Forces Covenant . An Armed Forces Covenant is the expression of the moral obligation that the government and the nation owe to the Armed Forces community. The Covenant acknowledges that members of the Armed Forces sacrifice some freedoms and often face dangerous situations. It recognises that families play a vital role in supporting the operational effectiveness of the Armed Forces. It is only in India where our men and women have to go through the humiliation of a comparison with a discredited bureaucracy. In the United States, 15 presidents have served in the Army/Army Reserve , 9 in the State Militias, 6 in the Navy/Naval Reserve, with 2 presidents having serving in the Continental Army. In addition, 8 presidents served during World War II, while 7 served in the Military during the American Civil War. That was the kind of military service they did before becoming the President and Commander in Chief of the US of America. No wonder they respect their Armed Forces and their Veterans.

2. Your Armed Forces cannot be compared with the IAS, IPS, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF , NSG, Railway Protection Force, Rapid Deployment Force or the State Armed Police Forces. A Nation can have only one Military. The renowned sociologist Morris Janowitz had famously said: “The intimate social solidarity of the military profession is both envied and resented by civilians.” A bureaucrat is in no way comparable to a man or woman who serves in the Armed Forces. Nowhere is this comparison even attempted, not in the United States, the United Kingdom or even China. It’s laughable and making that comparison is ludicrous. Neither can the Armed Forces be compared or equated to other police forces of a country.

3. WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO YOU AND TO NO ONE ELSE BECAUSE :

(a) WE HAVE PLEDGED TO PROTECT YOU, AND WE LIKE TO KEEP OUR WORD !

(b). WE ARE SURE THAT YOU LOVE US AND WE KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT THE INDIAN MILITARY IS THE LAST BASTION OF HOPE WHEN THE GOVT MACHINERY, IAS, IPS, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF , NSG, Railway Protection Force HAVE FAILED ----- AND WHEN FINALLY THE ARMED FORCES FAIL ; INDIA WILL BE LOST.
PLEASE KNOW THESE FACTS.

4. THE GOVT, FINANCE MINISTRY AND THE IAS/IPS LOBBY IS DENYING YOUR SOLDIERS OROP UNDER THE PLEA OF FINANCIAL SCARCITY . THE FOLLOWING WILL TELL YOU THEIR SCARCITY :

(a) OROP ALREADY EXISTS FOR 100% OF THE BUREAUCRATS, JUDICIARY AND ALL THE PARLIAMENTARIANS.

(b) OUR PENSION WAS BROUGHT DOWN FROM 70% to 50 %WHILE THEIRS WAS RAISED FROM 30% TO 50% IN THE 3rd CPC , AFTER WE HAD WON THE WAR AGAINST PAKISTAN IN 1971!

(c) IN THE 6th CPC THEY DOLED OUT NFU - A SYSTEM BY WHICH ALL IAS, IPS OFFICERS & GROUP A SERVICES (LESS ARMED FORCES) WOULD RETIRE AT THE HIGHEST PAY SCALE -THEREBY GIVING THEM HIGHEST PENSION PLUS OROP. THEY LEFT FORCES OUT OF IT.

(d) THE IAS ,IPS and the CENTRAL SERVICES also gave themselves ACP - ASSURED CAREER PROGRESSION - BUT AGAIN LEFT FORCES OUT OF IT . BY DOING THIS, THEY BROUGHT US DOWN SEVERELY AND HAVE MADE THE FORCES LEAST LUCRATIVE AND LEAST HONOURABLE JOB. Without doubt the aim was to downgrade the Armed Forces of India. OUR ENEMIES ARE HAPPY AND WATCHING THIS GREAT DRAMA WITH GLEE ! Do you know that till date a DIG was between a Lt Col and a Col . Now a Col has been equated with Non-Functional Selection Grade (NFSG). The rank of a DIG is now officially equal to a Brigadier. Both are now on a Grade Pay of Rs 8900. Because of the machinations of the Govt and the Central Services to run down the Military.

(e) THEY CAN "DONATE" $ 1 MILLION TO MONGOLIA, DONATE 1.25 LAC CRORE TO A STATE VOTE BANK, LET SCAMS OF LACS OF CRORE IN GOVT, IPL AND BCCI, give bailouts of hundreds of LAKHS to AIR INDIA but feel poor when it comes to Rs. 8,300 Crores for the Armed Forces personnel who are" FORCED " TO RETIRE YOUNG SO THAT THE NATION CAN SLEEP EASY.

5. It is not just Modi's promise but a four decades old promise, AN APPROVED PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE (KOSHIARY ) REPORT, A FAVOURABLE SC JUDGMENT (Maj Gen Vains ) and a promise by all Govts. IT IS AN UNFINISHED AGENDUM.

6. YOU CANNOT REMAIN INSULATED AND SEE VETERANS AND WIDOWS IGNORED AND THE STATUS AND PARITY OF THE INDIAN ARMED FORCES vis-a- vis OTHER GOVT SERVANTS DISTORTED. AND THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE 1947 !!

7. GOD FORBID IF ONE OF YOUR OWN SON or DAUGHTER or RELATIVE IS IN THE FORCES - WOULD YOU STILL FEEL THE SAME ?? WILL YOU SEND YOUR NEXT GENERATION TO THE ARMED FORCES NOW ??

8. WE ARE BARRED FROM STRIKES , PROTESTS, UNIONS ETC -FOR REASONS OF DISCIPLINE , BUT REST OF THE COUNTRY CAN GET WHAT THEY WANT ANY TIME BY RESORTING TO RIOTING, RAIL-ROKO etc !

9. HAVE WE EVER FAILED YOU IN PEACE, WAR OR TERRORISM, RIOTS, FLOODS, EARTHQUAKES ?? JUST LAST WEEK, EVEN THE SMALL SCALE RIOTS IN GUJARAT COULD NOT BE CONTROLLED BY THE POLICE OR THE PARA MIL FORCES ( !! ) AND THE ARMY DID THE JOB !!
CAN THIS NATION SURVIVE WITHOUT ITS ARMED FORCES ??
REMEMBER, SALARY MAKES US DO OUR JOB BUT ITS HONOUR AND RECOGNITION THAT IMPELS US TO EMBRACE DEATH WILLINGLY WHILE EXECUTING OUR JOB.
THE POLITICIANS AND BUREAUCRATS HAVE DISHONOURED US.

ONCE A SOLDIER, ALWAYS A SOLDIER

OUR DEFENCE KIDS, WHERE ARE YOU? 

 

In our country, unfortunately, it is not the substance that matters, it is who said that matters the most, the gravity of the statement/issue notwithstanding. There are hundreds of Defence children who are shining in their chosen fields. Most of them in Bollywood and sports field, some in the media, some others in business and fashion industry. In our ongoing battle for OROP, we, the Veterans expected this breed at least to be with us. We thought, wrongly, that they will be on our side. Needless to say, when a renowned person (or celebrity, as they are called by the society all over the globe) issues a statement, it has more weight than what you and me say. Yes, sad state of affairs, but then that’s how the sea of humanity sees it.

Following is a list of Defence children (not exhaustive e.g. names of Maj Maroof Raza, an ex Major and one of the most respected journalists, Col Rajyavardhan Rathore and Ritu Beri’s names don’t appear, why talk of Gen VK Singh?). I ask the reader to go through the list, recollect if anyone of them has ever supported OROP in the media, see even if you can pin point one name.

They all are quiet. “You are either with us or against us. Your silence says it all.”

To my mind, there can be only two reasons for this silence:

Either they are too scared to antagonize the govt as govt issues titles (mostly meaningless, politicized) and awards and medals (again the same),

Or

They couldn’t care less.

AN OPEN LETTER TO INDIAN MEDIA

Dear Editors,


1. In a democracy at least, the media plays an all important, encompassing part. Media is all powerful. However, with this power comes the responsibility, a huge one indeed. Of protecting the nation.

2. It is extremely sad that in our country the media has hardly been honest and fearless, ever in general and of late in particular, as they ought to have been. Unless you are honest and unless you have the moral courage, you can never do service to the country. By towing the powers that be, you merely do a disservice to the nation which is worse than no service at all. On behalf of the millions of Veterans, their dependent family members, serving soldiers and their families, I would like to ask you three extremely simple questions:

(a) Where exactly were your resources yesterday (12 Sep 15) when the OROP Rally was going on at Jantar Mantar in Delhi?
(b) Why did you not just defy the govt's instructions not to give any coverage, electronic or print, to the OROP Rally? Aren't you independent?
(c) Doesn't your conscience ever prick you for dishonesty to your esteemed profession?
Nota bene. For Arnab Goswami Only. Please answer as "the nation wants to know."

3. You want us to read and see:

(a) Who is dating whom.
(b) Sanjay Dutt's parole schedule.
(c) Who showed cleavage and exactly how the wardrobe malfunction took place, step by step.
(d) Which corrupt, criminal politician (I refuse to call them our leaders) uttered what non sense.
(e) How Indrani played her vicious game (I have no interest).
(f) Where did Ranbir Kapoor and her fiancee (sorry I don't even remember her name) eat their last meal together.
(g) How did Laloo Prasad, the man responsible for Fodder Scam and a hardcore criminal, amuse the audience.
(h) Who wore what and where.
(j) All sleaze, no substance of intellectual level.

4. But you do not want the nation to read as to how the Soldier who has been dying continuously for you and 130 Crore other people of this country has been continually cheated, degraded and humiliated by different govts time and time again. You are obsessed with only dhotiwalas, babus and sex. That's all. Precisely, who calls you people 'the intelligentsia'?

5. Our story is a long one, punctuated by anguish and heartburn. I do understand that you do not have time to read us. Well, be that as it may, but frankly the entire Defence community is wondering that why the media did not go on air/print to cover the OROP Rally yesterday.

6. The aim of this communication is to just remind you that by not being honest to your profession, you are putting your own credibility at stake, if that really matters to you at all. People are talking, one just needs to trawl the social media platforms to see what is meant by that.

RESPECT YOUR ARMY

 

For us, the defenders of this nation, nothing is more important than respect and honour.

OROP IS OUR LEGAL RIGHT, CLEARED BY THE SUPREME COURT AND THE PARLIAMENT. WE DO NOT WANT ALMS FROM THIS ROTTEN GOVT. 

Such a befitting reply! In spite of the dhotiwalas' and babus' nefarious designs, the Rally at Jantar Mantar was more than a grand success today. More than five thousand chairs had been catered for but the No. turned out to be nothing less than 30,000!! Look at the dirty trick the govt is playing with us - they stopped 500 buses in various parts of Delhi border so as to block entry of ESM to the venue of the Rally. Even trains were stopped!!! Press was banned from airing what they were covering on ground at Jantar Mantar!!!! This is 'our' govt. No Modi, Jaitley, Parrikar and babus, we do not defend the nation for thieves and corrupt rascals like you; we die for our fellow citizens who love us with pure heart. Hundreds of civilians, not even from the Defence background, were seen today in the Rally, supporting us and running errands to ensure smooth organization of the event. 

Such rallies took place today at more than 80 locations across the country and the reports pouring in are astounding. The numbers swelled by every minute. Public is now fully aware of the dirty tricks these politicians and bureaucrats are playing - the game is clear as glass, and the public, before us, wouldn't take a no from the govt when it comes to '100% OROP (and not the diluted one).
The Defence Veterans thank the public for their unprecedented, overwhelming support and salute their 'jazba.'

Shame on Modi and his cronies. They have now lost whatever little credibility was there and the day is not far when they will repent the day they messed with Soldiers. Beware, your downfall is just round the corner, you immoral lot.
